Storyline

Adonis, the King of Bullomania's personal chauffeur, is in love with Princess Ernestine, the King's daughter. To win her heart, he accepts to fight bulls at the bullfighting school. But the princess is also courted by Manuel Risotto, a famous toreador who kidnaps her. The King chases after him in a car driven by Adonis. Unfortunately, the chauffeur lets Risotto run away. In a rage, the King condemns Adonis to the death penalty. But it is without counting a scientist who has invented a rocket, his assistant who falls down in the yard of Adonis's prison, a great escape featuring Adonis and the assistant disguised as bulls, a second abduction of the Princess - but, this time for the just cause of love -, a wild chase and a final flight to another planet! Throwing the Bull and Vice Versa
23 January 2015 | by (New York City) – See all my reviews

What do you get when you cross Sidney Smith, Madeleine Hurlock and the usual assortment of Sennett comics? This two-reeler about a bull-fighting chauffeur, a princess and Andy Clyde in two roles -- a king and a professor on his way to Mars.

The gags come fast and furious in this Del Lord comedy, with the usual automobile gags and one I've never seen before: take a look at how Sid Smith avoids being shot at dawn. The pacing is more typical of a Christie Brothers comedy than a Sennett comedy, but if you look at it as a string of gags instead of a burlesque of the Valentino hit BLOOD AND SAND, you should have an amusing time.
