BollySpice gives a very special tribute to Music Director Aadesh Srivastava

7 September 2015 1:00 AM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

With a very heavy heart, we present our tribute to one of Bollywood’s finest music composers, Aadesh Srivastava, who sadly lost his battle with cancer. Our heartfelt condolences to the entire Srivastava and Pandit family. Aadeshji has two sons, Avitesh and Anivesh, with his wife Vijayta Pandit, who is sister of the famous Music Director duo Jatin-Lalit.

Aadeshji was not only a music director but also a background score composer. He gave the background score to many films, such as Humraaz, Ye Hai Jalwa and Paheli, the latter being one of our favorite and most noted background scores.

Before we take a look at our favourite songs composed by Aadeshji, here are some special tributes from his colleagues within the music industry that have had the chance to work with him and meet him over the years:

Back in 2002, we saw the release of the Akshaye Khanna, Bobby Deol, Amisha Patel starrer Humraaz that was directed by the director duo Abbas - Mustan. Now we hear that the makers of the film are contemplating on making a sequel to it. Confirming the same Ratan Jain, who produced Humraaz says, "Yes we are looking at making a sequel to the film. In fact I was just talking to someone about this and now its news." When prodded for more details on the sequel, Jain refrained from commenting saying, "As of now all I can say is that we will make a sequel, but the rest is still undecided since we are yet to develop a script for the film. However, once we have made some progress we will make an announcement." »

The Voice India: Week 2 Blind Auditions

19 June 2015 12:04 AM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

Pawandeep – Team Shaan

The second week of The Voice India opened with a quick recap of the first week; showing the contestants that had been selected and also the coaches expectations from the singers.

The first contestant of Saturday’s show was Boston born Nalini Krishnan. Nalini is 21 years old and is born and bought up in Boston, USA. She is studying music and wants to be a singer/music director. Nalini sang ‘Jallah Wallah’ from Ishaqzaade. The coaches were extremely impressed by Nalini’s performance. Coach Hr was the first to hit the buzzer, followed very closely by coaches Mika and then Shaan. Coach Sunidhi did not hit the buzzer. After much comic grovling (!) and pleading from the coaches, Nalini chose our favourite coach Hr, and is the third contestant to join Team Himesh.

The second contestant was Sayan Chaudhary. Sayan sang the popular song ‘Har Kisi Ko Nahin Milta’ from Boss. »
