Preposterous fun
15 November 2003 | by (usa) – See all my reviews

Twin sisters (shades of CRIMSON RIVERS!), one in prison for infanticide and the other locked away in a convent, catch the attention of a spiritually troubled priest-doctor played by Depardieu in "anything-for-a-paycheck" fashion. Everyone, it turns out, harbors a Big Secret which the film unfortunately telegraphs at every opportunity. Loads of bad dialog and atrocious acting, and perfect for playing MSTK3 with, as we did the night we watched it. It all builds to a perfectly splendid Hitchcockian finale right out of VERTIGO, if you can stay awake long enough.
