You may have guessed already that I am a big fan of Winnie the Pooh, and of the TV series The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. This is yet another wonderful collection of the episodes of the show, and still with the childhood innocence, the droll dialogue and the timeless characters. This particular video, Clever Little Piglet, focuses chiefly on Piglet, but all the other characters are just as effective.

"Gone With the Wind" is a very moody and touching episode to me, with an opening that sets the tone perfectly. As you would expect the animation has a very colourful and elegant look to it, and the music is lovely. The story, telling of Piglet's terror of the wind and overcoming, it is simple and lovingly told, with the look of the sunset towards the end of the episode so beautiful it makes me cry and the part where Pooh, Gopher, Tigger and Rabbit get flushed down the drain being one of the funniest parts of the entire show. Not only that, but as usual there is some droll dialogue with Pooh's "What a blustery morning. It must be winds day again" and Tigger's "Where? Where? I don't see any flying Piglet, probably just one of those unidentified omelets"

"My Hero" of the four stories on this video has possibly the most childhood innocence. There is so much to love about the episode, but what I loved most were Tigger dancing with a mop cleaning Piglet's house in return for Piglet saving his life, which is simply hilarious, Tigger's closing line which has a sense of cheekiness to it and Owl trying to save Eeyore then finding that Eeyore's too heavy for the two of them so both fall from the sky. Piglet is adorable, and Tigger is every bit as funny and lovable as ever, while the animation, music and dialogue are once again top notch.

"Owl Feathers" brings back a lot of memories. Owl always used to amuse me with his long rambling stories about his relatives and what not, and to see a change of pace to him, and to see adorable little Piglet trying to help him fly again was one of the most heart-warming memories of my childhood. As always I have little to fault the animation and music, while the storytelling warms the heart and makes you smile and the writing is droll and touching.

"Where Oh Where Has My Piglet Gone?" is for me one of the funnier episodes of the show. The story is like "My Hero" full of childhood innocence, and is beautifully animated and orchestrated. Piglet is as adorable as ever, and all the other characters have their moments to shine. As for my favourite part of the episode, it has to be this exchange; "Say what's that?/Sounds like a heffalump with a bad head-cold!/ Nah! It's the maiden call of the yellow belled double parp sep sucker!/ What if whatever it is has Piglet? Oh it's all my fault for losing him!"

Overall, wonderful, fans of the show or Winnie the Pooh will love this I think. 10/10 Bethany Cox
