Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Barely any.

A couple is making out while riding in the back of a car at the very beginning of the movie. They are clothed and the scene lasts only a few seconds.

An old man pretends to not be able to get up and a female character tries to assist him, while doing so he rubs her bum.

A woman shoots herself in the mouth, spraying everything around her with blood, and brain/skull matter; the gory results are shown many times throughout the film.

Leatherface attacks a man with a chainsaw and severs his leg (we see the leg separate and land on the ground, and blood sprays); the man is then taken into a basement (his fingernails are torn out as he tries to stop this), and he is hung on a meathook (blood drips from his back and mouth), and Leatherface then presses salt on the man's leg stump, causing him to scream in pain; later the man tries to free himself from the hook, and falls back on it with a crunch; eventually, he begs a woman to kill him, and she stabs him in the stomach (blood pours out and all over her).

Leatherface's chainsaw-wielding arm is sliced off with a meat cleaver; blood sprays and we see the arm separate, and lying on the ground in a pool of blood, while the victim screams.

A man is hit in the back of the head with a sledgehammer (blood sprays), and his body is later seen being worked on by Leatherface, with various bloody results; later we see Leatherface sewing up what appears to be his skin, and later is shown wearing the man's face.

A man is hung from his handcuffs and sliced up the crotch with a chainsaw (the camera cuts before we see anything graphic).

A woman is killed with a chainsaw (offscreen).

A man is run over by a car and killed (blood splatters the windshield).

In several scenes we see a room full of severed, often decomposed body parts. A man smashes a bottle over a man's face, with some bloody results, and a tooth is knocked out.

Several scenes of people being chased or threatened in various ways.

Some common profanities can be heard a few times.

Fuck and Shit are said many times throughout the movie, and other mild obscenities are present.

Very few alcohol, drugs, and smoking elements.

Four out of five of the main characters smoke pot. They are obviously high while they are driving at the beginning of the movie. At one point, one of the guys says "I am way too stoned for this!".

A man drinks alcohol.

A piata is stuffed with marijuana.

Leatherface's appearance can be gross and frightening.

A baby is revealed to be kidnapped by a family of psychopaths.

Rated R for strong horror violence/gore, language and drug content
