Amazing Film!
3 October 2004 | by See all my reviews

Phoenix Point is a weird, off the wall, sexy, and yes, imperfect film. What sort of twisted mind comes up with such a movie?

It's sort a of Mad Max, post nuclear holocaust type movie with an art-house film flavor to it. It is also the late great Brion James' swan song, his last movie. What a shame, he was a great actor. Very underrated. He was great in Blade Runner and great in The Player, arguably the best movie about Hollywood, ever.

Jon Jacobs does a good job in the role of Jack Ladd. Mr. Jacobs has made quite a name for himself in the indie underground film world. Here's hoping he breaks through to the mainstream real soon. Believe it or not, I see him as a guy who should be doing more comedies. Sure, he has the intensity needed for dramatic and action and sci-fi roles. But he has a playfulness about him that is highly suited to comedic roles. Comedy is an avenue Mr. Jacobs should explore in his career A.S.A.P., baby!

Phoenix Point, brain food for your soul!
