Parikshat Sahni starred in the film "The Man From India," in the late 60's, early 70's. Parikshat played Udham Singh, the revolutionary who shoots Col. Michael O'Dwyer, the man behind the Jalianwalla Bagh massacre, right inside the British Parliament. The film co starred his father Balraj Sahni. It was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Due to the film going over budget and Balraj Sahni passing away, the film was sadly shelved. The producer finally got the courage to revive the film in the late 70's. He became the director of the film and replaced Balraj Sahni with Om Shivpuri. He added Vinod Khanna to the cast creating a new role in the film . He also promoted the film as Vinod Khanna film due to to Vinod Khanna's stardom at the box office. The reality was that Parikshat was the main hero of the film with Vinod added in small parts. He also added Deepti Naval to the film. The older portions shot with Parikshat Sahni were retained and added to the new footage shot in the late 70's. Vinod Khanna abrupt decision to join Rajneesh in America caused more problems for the producer. His work remained incomplete and the film got delayed again for another 5 years. When Vinod Khanna returned to India he finished he portions and the film was finally released in 1987.
