Terry Crews Signs With UTA After WME Battle

Terry Crews Signs With UTA After WME Battle
A month after exiting Wme amid a sexual harassment battle, actor Terry Crews has signed with UTA for representation in all areas.

Crews, co-star of Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” left Wme in early November after going public with his allegation that he was groped by Wme partner Adam Venit at an industry party in February 2016. He subsequently filed a police report on the incident and is waging a lawsuit against Venit and Wme.

“I have never felt more emasculated, more objectified. I was horrified,” the actor told ABC’s “Good Morning America” last month.

In addition to his acting, Crews is a popular TV host and pitchman. He served stints as host of the syndicated “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” Fox’s “World’s Funniest” and the Netflix unscripted series “Ultimate Beastmaster.” He has served as the face of Old Spice for the past eight years, and has an upcoming branded entertainment project with Microsoft for the

Disney/Fox Deal: How The Battle to Beat Netflix Starts Today, What Happens to the Fox Network, And Other Burning Questions

  • Indiewire
Rupert Murdoch is cashing out. The idea of 21st Century Fox being consumed by Disney in a $52.4 billion all-stock deal has shocked Hollywood, where industry players never thought they’d see the powerful Fox behemoth be largely consumed, rather than do the consuming. But as one insider noted, Murdoch is looking toward his final legacy — and turning in his chips while the getting’s good.

“Rupert is 86. He’s looking toward setting up [his family],” one observer said. The industry is rapidly changing, and as the Disney deal currently values the 21st Century Fox assets at more than $66 billion, it’s probably never going to get better than that. Fox shareholders, including the Murdochs, could hold around 25 percent of a new mega-Disney, which will now be supremely positioned to face off with Netflix and other giants in the new media landscape.

The Murdochs got their start in the newspaper business, so it

The Ultimate Summer Binge Guide: Where to Stream The Best Summer TV, Ever — IndieWire Critics Survey

The Ultimate Summer Binge Guide: Where to Stream The Best Summer TV, Ever — IndieWire Critics Survey
Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)

This week’s question: What is the perfect summer show? Why? (Note: This doesn’t have to be a current show)

Alan Sepinwall (@sepinwall), Uproxx

When you’re picking the perfect summer show, you first have to define your terms. “The Oc” and “American Idol” debuted in the summer, but so did “The Wire” and “Mad Men.” So your definition can be wide and varied. And with most of TV history available to us with a few clicks, almost anything can become a summer binge on a boiling day when you really need to stay indoors. That said, while some of the greatest series ever aired at times while school was out,

Love Connection Review: Andy Cohen Can't Save Fox's Awkward Reboot

Love Connection Review: Andy Cohen Can't Save Fox's Awkward Reboot
Being a loving connoisseur of ’80s cheese, my heart leapt at the news that Fox was rebooting the old-school dating show Love Connection. But alas, some things are better left in the past. The new reboot — debuting this Thursday at 9/8c — turns out to be the TV equivalent of a hot-pink leotard stuffed full of floppy disks.

The original Love Connection, hosted by Chuck Woolery, is a charming relic of the video-dating era, with singles choosing a date from three options and reporting back to Woolery how it went. It’s corny and hopelessly dated… but that’s part of the fun.

"I was a pulled off a flight by the police in front of everybody," Crews said before explaining that cops assumed he was a drug dealer, "simply because I paid for my ticket with cash."

Once Crews told the officers that he was an NFL player, he said, they asked for his autograph.

The humiliating experience left Crews wondering what could’ve happened if he hadn't been a professional athlete.

"I could not believe what I was experiencing," he continued. "It was really strange, walking back on the airplane. Everyone was like ‘What is wrong with this guy?' But all

Don Cheadle to Star in Historical Drama ‘Prince of Darkness’
Don Cheadle will star in and produce “Prince of Darkness,” a biopic of 19th century black millionaire Jeremiah G. Hamilton.

Steven Baigelman, who co-wrote the “Miles Ahead” screenplay with Cheadle, has been tapped to adapt the “Prince of Darkness” script from Shane White’s book “Prince of Darkness: The Story of tt0290966 autoJeremiah G. Hamilton, Wall Street’s First Black Millionaire.”

White’s book portrays Hamilton as a larger-than-life character who defied convention during the period and amassed a $2 million fortune by the time of his death in 1875. He dealt extensively in the white business world, married a white woman, bought a mansion in rural New Jersey, and owned railroad stock on trains he was not legally allowed to ride.

When Hamilton died, he was often referred to as the richest black man in the U.S. White’s book was the winner of the 2015 Society for Historians of the
