Trivia

At the beginning of season 9, some of the rules of the game have changed. The "clock format" was replaced with a "shuffle format." The amount of questions on the money tree went from 15 questions to 14 questions and they were split into two rounds. The first round consists of 10 questions with categories and the second round would contain the last 4 questions without the categories and is also referred to as "Classic Millionaire." The dollar amounts in the first round would be hidden and randomly mixed up and then the categories would be added in and mixed up randomly. Then after the player answers a question correctly, the amount of money behind the question will be revealed and added into a bank, accumulates the player's winnings throughout the game. If the player chooses to walk during the first round, they will receive half of the amount in their bank and if they choose to walk anytime during the round two, they will receive all the winnings in their bank. However, if the player gets the answer to a question wrong during the first round, they will lose the entire bank and leave with a $1,000 consolation prize. If they get the answer to a question in the second round wrong, they will end up walking with $25,000. See more »

Crazy Credits

The show originally aired on ABC. When an episode ended on there, Regis would typically make a remark about what show was going to be on there next (for example, Dharma and Greg) right before the credits ended. Strangely, these are NOT edited out in Game Show Network airings! See more »

Not what it used to be.....
27 August 2004 | by (Sidney, OH) – See all my reviews

some people may not have liked Regis, but cmon, at least he gave the show some enthusiasm, humor, and excitement.....The show is sooo boring these days with the female host....She is boring, her jokes are dull, and she has no enthusiasm whatsoever....After a contestant answers a higher level question, she will try to make the contestant nervous into thinking he/she got the question wrong, but she'll say some of the absolutely dumbest things while doing so....Also, quite frankly, some of the guests are outright weird....I mean, seriously, do they screen any of these people before they let them on the show....Regis's Millionaire is a game show classic, but the newer version just isn't making the grade
