AMC's 'Turn': Watch Jamie Bell become a Revolutionary War spy

20 December 2013 9:45 AM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

AMC has released a teaser for its new series "Turn," which is set during the Revolutionary War. But this is not your typical patriots-vs.-Redcoats story.

The show promises to tell "the untold story of America's first spy ring," which is a novel way to explore the nation's war for independence. The series, set to premiere in the spring, stars Jamie Bell ("Billy Elliot," "Jane Eyre") as Abe Woodhull, a farmer in New York who joins a network of spies known as the Culper Ring that helps turn the war for independence in the colonists' favor. It's not entirely a popular position within his community.

The cast also includes Kevin McNally ("Pirates of the Caribbean"), Angus Macfadyen ("Chuck," "Miracles"), Daniel Henshall, Meegan Warner, Burn Gorman and Heather Lind. "Nikita" Ep Craig Silverstein created the series, which is based on the book "Washington's Spies" by Alexander Rose.
