'Impastor' Stars Michael Rosenbaum & Sara Rue Talk 'Smallville,' 'Batman v. Superman' & 'Can't Hardly Wait'

Lex Luthor had never been to Comic-Con before this year. That's right, Michael Rosenbaum -- who played the Superman villain on "Smallville" from 2001-2011 -- made his first appearance at the geek convention in 2015, almost 15 years after the teen drama premiered on The WB. "Lex Loser," the actor joked when toofab's Brian Particelli caught up with him and costar Sara Rue in San Diego over the weekend, where the two were promoting their new TV Land comedy "Impastor." And with Jesse Eisenberg stepping into Luthor's shoes for the highly-anticipated "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," we had to ask -- is Michael excited to see a new take on his former role?  "I’ll always check things out," he said, excitedly. "I don’t hold grudges like ‘Oh, it isn’t me!’ Eisenberg will be great. Why’s it always the Jews with Lex Luthor? Rosenbaum, Eisenberg, what’s going on here? »

CBS Orders Comedy Pilot ‘Life In Pieces'; John Leguizamo to Star in ‘Taxi-22′

22 January 2015 6:30 PM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

CBS has ordered its second comedy pilot for the 2015-16 season, “Life in Pieces,” from exec producers Justin Adler (“Samantha Who?,” “Less Than Perfect”) and Aaron Kaplan (“Chasing Life,” “Mysteries of Laura”).

The single-cam comedy from Kapital Entertainment, in association with 20th Century Fox TV, tells the story of one family through the perspectives of its different family members. Adler will pen the pilot.

The pickup marks the second pilot order for Kaplan. ABC Family previously greenlit “Kevin From Work,” a half-hour single-cam workplace comedy. Kaplan is also exec producing “Divorce,” in which Sarah Jessica Parker is likely to star, although HBO has not ordered the series yet.

CBS announced its first comedy order Wednesday, the “Untitled Tommy Johnagin Project” from “Cougar Town” creator Bill Lawrence.

Separately, CBS has recruited John Leguizamo to star in comedy pilot “Taxi-22,” a redo of a French-Canadian series about a cab driver, according to Deadline. »
