Storyline

Jake Silver, a television producer, arrives in Miami to work on the morning show, GOOD MORNING MIAMI. What he sees is a utter mess; for instance, the anchorman, Gavin Stone, is a recovering alcoholic who is pompous and arrogant, as is the anchorwoman Lucia, and the weather girl is a nun. Frank, the man who brings Jake there, is extremely neurotic. And his assistant Penny is obstinate. Jake is about to leave when he meets Dylan, the station's hairdresser, and decides to stick around to court her; the only problem is, she's already involved with Stone. But on the advice of his grandmother Clair, he decides to stay and see if he has a chance. Written by rcs0411@yahoo.com

I was so happy when this was canceled
8 December 2016 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Young people used to Netflix and DVRs may not remember the days when you watched a TV series simply because it followed a series you enjoyed.

Good Morning, Miami was such a series. It was the tail end of the sitcom line-up of Friends, Scrubs, and Will and Grace, and inertia kept me watching it week after week.

Well, not just inertia. There was also Ashley Williams, who was so painfully hot that I could have just watched her read a phone book, which probably would have been just as entertaining as GMM.

The series starred Mark Feuerstein (one of these actors who is not particularly likable yet never lacks for work) as a producer on a morning TV show who becomes understandably infatuated with the aforementioned Williams.

The series wasn't especially funny or well written. I do recall one thing I liked that happened a way into the series when Feuerstein has an actual conversation with Williams and discovers that outside of being gorgeous and likable she isn't all that interesting. That's the truth of most infatuations, so I give credit for that. I vaguely recall this gave a boost to the smarter, only slightly less hot Constance Zimmer character. But that brief moment of intelligence didn't magically make the show funny.

I just couldn't help myself though. Every week it would start after Will and Grace, I would catch site of Williams, and I would watch the episode. And it was always bad. When it was canceled, I was so happy that I was saved from myself.
