The Big Bang Theory prequel all about Sheldon Cooper has been picked up for a full season...
The Big Bang Theory's prequel series, which is set to focus on the early life of Dr Sheldon Cooper, has officially been picked up for a full season.
Deadline broke the news of Favreau's appointment and the full season order, as well as dropping some interesting info nuggets: Parsons, the original Sheldon actor, will narrate show; Lance Barber has been cast as Sheldon's dad; and the series will probably air side by side with The Big Bang Theory in autumn.
Bob Newhart started out as a standup, and scored massive, award-winning hits with his groundbreaking comedy records. That was before he became a comedy and TV legend, having starred in 1970s hit sitcom “The Bob Newhart Show” and 1980s comedic staple “Newhart” as a Chicago therapist and a New England innkeeper, respectively. While he scored his first Emmy nomination as a writer for the 1962 “The Bob Newhart Show,” incredibly, Newhart didn’t win an Emmy until the 2013 season of “Big Bang Theory” as a guest actor. Although known best for his TV work, he was a memorable Papa Elf in 2003 holiday classic “Elf.” Newhart’s first mention in a Variety was in a review on March 18, 1959, of “Chicago Nightline.” The critic didn’t like the show, but liked him, saying he “has given ample evidence that he can become the No. 1 funnyman on local channels.”
How did you get on “Chicago Nightline”?

Despite the controversy that has surrounded him in the last decade or so, it seems Mel Gibson is well and truly on the comeback trail in Hollywood. His latest film, Hacksaw Ridge, has been a big success across the globe and was rewarded last week with an Academy Award nomination for Best Director alongside his star Andrew Garfield, nominated for Best Actor (read our review here).
Now it seems Gibson could be about the jump back in front of the camera if new rumours are to be believed. Deadline is reporting that the Braveheart star is being courted for a role in the upcoming comedy sequel Daddy’s Home 2, which would see him star alongside the returning duo of Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, reprising their roles as Brad and Dusty respectively.
Indeed Gibson isn’t the only award-season favourite wanted for the film as The Crown »

Just when you thought the cast of Avengers: Infinity War couldn’t get any better, a new report from Variety states that Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage is being eyed for a role in the film. If the actor does come on board the project, he’ll most likely be returning for the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4, which is due out a year after Infinity War.
Signing on would make Dinklage a newcomer to the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, although he’s no stranger to comic book movies. In 2014, the actor played Dr. Bolivar Trask, the creator of the Sentinels and target of an assassination attempt, in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. While Dinklage did fine work in the movie, he was severely underused and didn’t exactly make a strong impression, so if he’s trading Fox’s X-Men universe for Disney’s McU, there’s not a lot of damage done. »
