Los rubios focuses on the directors search for her dissappeared parents. Is it possible to get to the truth or they are only fictions, imaginary characters from everyone who rememebers them?

Extraordinary puzzle...
26 October 2003 | by (Buenos Aires, Argentina) – See all my reviews

Los Rubios (The Blonds) is a brave and unique film. Brave because it defies a simple way of approaching Argentine past. And unique because it finds a very personal and original way to tell its story.

The story, if we can call it that way, refers to a personal trauma: Albertina Carri's parents were kidnapped and killed during Argentina's dirty war. Albertina questions everything: the past, the present, the testimonies, the realities and fictions of memories.

It´s a very free spirited film that intertwines different narrative sources in a very irreverent way. A must see. 10/10.
