Very interesting TV fare

When I first prepared to see this pilot for the proposed "Fatemaster" series, I was expecting to see a story based more on a tale of horror or the supernatural than what was presented. Because it is not, it was a pleasant surprise. So much for expectations.

The story deals with a subject matter that is neither horror nor supernatural, yet is both, and does it in an interesting, almost Kafkaesque way. For that reason, I enjoyed this production and the actors. Although the story is presented in chronological order, it is not really predictable because of the subject matter. The actors portrayed their characters in a very believable manner, with good expression and depth of emotion. The character development is limited to what can be accomplished in a 25-minute short but gives adequate information to support the story.

The only faults that I found were in the opening scene and in the final scene, but these faults may be more what I view as rational and realistic than what the writer wanted to say. In all, though, it is a good story and well worth the time spent viewing it.
