Storyline

Five years into the future, five Odyssey astronauts and a NASA technician are setting up NASA's latest high tech satellite just outside of Earth's orbit. The five are: Chuck Taggart - a charismatic authoritative and stoic mission commander and former ace pilot, Kurt Mendel - a likable pompous horny quip-prone British science author and NASA's special celebrity guest on the flight who actually does know a lot about science and can be brave and cunning despite claiming otherwise, Neil Taggart - Chuck's young adult son and genuine computer expert, Sarah Forbes - a popular news anchor and TV reporter who's there to make an exclusive piece about the mission, and Angela Perry - Chuck's experienced co-pilot who's father is a powerful senator. Everything is going fine until the Earth is suddenly caught on fire and then implodes for no apparent reason. This horrifying mysterious event damages the crew's shuttle, which leads to the death of the technician and also leaves Angela badly hurt and ...

Quotes

[V.O. intro from every episode except pilot]
Chuck Taggart: We saw the Earth destroyed, and in a heartbeat everything and everyone we knew was gone. There were five of us, the crew of the space shuttle Odyssey, and we were the only survivors. A mysterious being who called himself The Seeker rescued us and sent us back in time. And now we have five years to live over, five years to discover who or what destroyed the Earth, five years to stop it from happening again.

Odyssey 5 Probably the best Sci-Fi I've seen
12 October 2005 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I have always been a big fan of more of a space opera Sci-Fi. Star Trek, Star Wars etc.. I did like X-Files but I never thought I would really get into one that did not involve a lot of space scenes. Manny outdid himself on this one. I know it is a bit late in the ball game but I just watched the pilot and a couple of episodes.

Odyssey 5 I think is probably one of the best, if not the best Sci-Fi shows that exist. It was packed with action and adventure and comedy from start to finish. Has something for everyone in this series. Edge of your seat type of stuff. I was really impressed. I wish this would have been on another network other than Showtime, I have no doubt that we would still be watching season 5 now..

Bring it back..
