This made-for-public-television animated film showcases some of the best talent to come out of West Virginia in a wonderful story based on the short story by Frank R. Stockton.

The voices of the characters were supplied by West Virginia natives, with the exception of the narrator, Linda Purl. Don Knotts and Soupy Sales have cameos as villagers.

The griffin has never seen his reflection, so when he is told that there is a likeness of him on a church, he sets off to find it so he can see what he looks like. When he arrives at the village where the church is located, the townspeople fear him, and send the Minor-Canon to speak with him. To find out how the rest of the story goes, watch the film. I highly recommend it.
