Bigelow wins the gold
24 July 2002 | by See all my reviews

The event kicked off with a decent tag match between Jerry Lynn & Chris Chetti against Tracy Smothers & Little Guido. Masato Tanaka in his first ppv took on Doug Furnas who competed in his only ECW ppv, after the match he bad-mouthed Vince McMahon, the match wasn't as good as I was hoping it would be. In the match of the night RVD defeated 2-Cold Scorpio, these guys put on a helluva a show. New Jack & Spike Dudley defeated the Dudley Boys and Rotten & Balls Mahoney in a 3-way dance. Tommy Dreamer defeated Justin Credible. Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Tazz after putting him through the mat! to win the heavyweight title, they were in New Jersey on this night which is Bigelow's home state. Afterwards since the ring was broken in one part they decided to show a match taped before the PPV that was "too violent" for ppv, but it wasn't really that violent as Sabu defeated the Sandman in a short match. And the main event kind of sucked as Al Snow and the idiot Lance Storm defeated Chris Candido and Shane Douglas, through the match they played Snow's music non stop and often times turned the camera upside down, very annoying and stupid decision. Overall a good ppv as all ECW ppv's were but it sure wasn't their best.
