Trivia

The series earned the dubious distinction of earning the most Ofcom complaints of 2011, when the media regulator received 2,220 complaints after Wright made a misjudged joke about a murdered Scottish teenager during a newspaper review. This came only two months after Wright was forced to make an on-air apology the day after hosting a controversial phone-in about Amanda Knox titled "Foxy Knoxy: Would Ya?" following her successful appeal against her murder conviction. Channel 5... Daytime TV?? Actually, it's quite good

With those credentials, you'd expect this to be diabolical but actually it's worth watching. The topics discussed are always relevant and entertaining to debate, and the audience and viewers are allowed to have a say so it isn't just Wright and some Z-list celebs talking about nonsense. Matthew Wright is a great presenter who never manages to be dull, never spends too long on a topic and keeps the panel of guests in control. There isn't much more to say besides it being an entertaining and useful look at the recent news, and certainly the best thing on during the daytime in the week. To see what it could have been like you can flip over to ITV and watch 'Loose Women' for as long as you can bear it.

Unfortunately, for the rest of the daytime Channel 5 reverts to those mind games programmes with glaring pink studios that seem to go on for hours. When they're on, you're probably better off watching the BBC with "To buy or not to buy" "Car booty", "Cash in the Attic", "Bargain Hunt", "Flog it!" "Homes under the hammer"… ENOUGH!
