The Flash episode 15 review: Out Of Time

20 March 2015 3:32 AM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

The Flash demonstrates a touch of genius in its ability to defy audience expectations in this week's blistering episode...

This review contains spoilers.

1.15 Out Of Time

The Flash has been teasing the introduction of time travel all season and, in an episode full of pretty epic twists and surprises, Out Of Time is where it chose to really throw it into the ring. That choice is significant mainly because it's a seemingly random episode only notable for marking the show's return after several weeks away, but it's precisely the episode's apparent non-specialness that makes it genius.

Because if this had been the season finale, not only would the reveal of Harrison Wells as Reverse Flash, Iris' discovery of Barry's secret identity and the death of a major character make sense, but they would also have been somewhat expected. This is episode fifteen, and all of those things have already happened, »

Sam Cooke's Family Denies Involvement in Murder-Mystery Biopic

19 March 2015 6:00 AM, PDT | Rollingstone.com | See recent Rolling Stone news »

Following news that an "authorized" biopic about soul singer Sam Cooke and the strange circumstances surrounding his 1964 death was on the way, members of the Cooke family – including his younger brother L.C. Cooke – have since denied involvement in the project. The Cooke family, in association with Abkco Films, were already at work on their own official Sam Cooke biopic, Abkco said in a statement to Rolling Stone.

"Recent media reports about a proposed biographical film on the life of Sam Cooke and L.C. Cooke's purported involvement with the project are false. »

The Flash, Ep. 1.15, “Out of Time” boasts a heady script, stunning performances and an explosive reveal

The Flash, Season 1, Episode 15, “Out of Time” Written by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing Directed by Steve Surjik

Airs Tuesdays at 8pm Et on the CW - The Flash has had a long and complicated history to say the least. These complications all began with “Flash of Two Worlds!” a landmark comic book story published in 1961, that introduces Earth-Two, and more generally the concept of the multiverse, to DC Comics. Long story short, by the 1980s, the DC Universe was drowning in these parallel Earths and multiple continuities and so the writers over at DC decided to solve these problems with Crisis on Infinite Earths, a reality-bending crossover event that removed the concept of the Multiverse, and depicted the deaths of many long-standing superheroes. The goal was to streamline the world and history of the DC heroes and make them more accessible to new readers. A main story point in Crisis »

'The Flash' Trailer: Heat Wave & Captain Cold Return!

18 March 2015 1:58 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Following the photos released last week from next week's episode of The Flash, "Rogue Time", The CW has released a new trailer that showcases the return of Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell). As a result of last night's episode, "Out of Time", where Barry Allen went back in time, the space-time continuum is all out of whack. But, before he can deal with that, Barry has bigger problems at hand.

The Flash (Grant Gustin) learns that Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (guest star Dominic Purcell) have returned to Central City. This time Snart has brought along his baby sister Lisa (guest star Peyton List) to help wreak havoc on the city. As you may know, in the DC Comics, Lisa Snart is also known as The Golden Glider, but we'll have to wait and see how she fits into the story next week. »

Review: 'The Flash' - 'Out of Time': Reverse-Flash reset?

17 March 2015 7:02 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

A review of tonight's "The Flash" coming up just as soon as I decide whether bowling is a sport... Just due to the massive crunch of interesting Tuesday shows, I took "Flash" out of the regular review rotation, promising to come back when I had time and/or when the show did something particularly notable. It's fair to say that tonight's episode more than qualified on that second score. "Out of Time" played like the "Flash" creative team had challenged itself to see how many crazy, series-altering moments could be squeezed into a single episode, including: * Captain Singh being potentially paralyzed and brain-damaged by a lightning strike from the Weather Wizard; * Dr. Wells outing himself as the Reverse-Flash to Cisco, and clarifying exactly which Reverse-Flash he is from the comics (future scientist Eobard Thawne, who appears to be a distant descendant of our Eddie); * Dr. Wells then murdering Cisco by »

‘The Flash’ Postmortem: Boss Talks Reverse Flash Revelations and Killer Twist (Spoilers)

17 March 2015 6:00 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Spoiler warning: Do not read on unless you’ve seen “The Flash” Season 1, Episode 15, titled “Out of Time.”

Yes, “The Flash” just sent Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) back in time, and the repercussions of that inadvertent act will change the course of The CW series forever — which is just as well, given that the March 17 episode also saw Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) reveal his true identity as the Reverse Flash — aka Eobard Thawne — to Star Labs tech genius Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) right before killing him. On a more positive note, “Out of Time” also allowed Barry to admit his own super secret to Iris West (Candice Patton), after the two shared a long overdue kiss. But how many of Episode 15’s revelations will remain intact after Barry’s trip to the past?

To get answers, Variety was among a number of outlets that participated in a Q&A »

Holy moly, did The Flash just rewrite history?

The CW’s breakout hit appeared to blow everything up (and we mean everything) in Tuesday’s game-changing episode, “Out of Time.” From Barry’s first experience with time travel and the reveal of Dr. Harrison Wells’ true identity to Iris learning the truth about The Flash and Cisco’s not-so-permanent (but still heartbreaking) death, The Flash didn’t hold back any punches. But, will they all stick? The short answer: It’s … complicated.

While The CW's Arrow/Flash Spinoff may not have a title quite yet, the cast keeps growing by the day, with Dominic Purcell signing on to play his Flash villain Heat Wave in the series, which is being targeted for a midseason debut. Dominic Purcell joins a cast that includes Heat Wave's villainous partner Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Firestorm (Victor Garber) from The Flash, along with Arrow's Atom (Brandon Routh) and Caity Lotz in an unspecified role. The show will also mark the first series regular gigs for Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller since they both starred together on the Fox drama series Prison Break, which ran for four seasons between 2005 and 2009.
