Most (and least) watched shows of fall -- Updated

27 December 2011 1:30 PM, PST | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Now that we’re in rerun hell, it’s high time to take stock of what we liked (and loathed) from September to December. Below is a list of every network show and how many viewers each one averaged.

While these numbers aren’t a key piece of the puzzle for the broadcast nets when they are setting ad rates and deciding whether to renew a series, they definitely help to tell a story of a program’s true popularity.*

1. NCIS (CBS, 21.4 million)

2. Sunday NFL Football (NBC, 19.9)

3. Two and a Half Men (CBS, 18.9)

TV ratings: Packers-Bears scores big on Christmas for NBC

26 December 2011 8:53 AM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Fast National ratings for Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011

While the other networks settled in for a long winter's nap on Christmas night, NBC and "Sunday Night Football" dominated the ratings with a matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.

NBC averaged 17.8 million viewers and 9.3 rating/19 share in households Sunday evening. Those numbers will change some because of the live "Snf" telecast, but the Peacock beat the combined totals for the other three networks on the night. CBS (5.4 million, 3.4/7) came in second, a little ahead of ABC (4.8 million, 2.6/5). Fox trailed with just 1.8 million viewers and a 1.1/2.

NBC was similarly dominant in the adults 18-49 demographic, scoring a 5.5 rating. ABC drew a 1.7 to finish second, while neither CBS (0.8) nor Fox (0.7) broke the 1.0 mark.

Sunday hour by hour:

7 p.m.

NBC: "Football Night in America" (9.05 million viewers, 4.7/11 households)

ABC: NBA overrun - Bulls/Lakers (8.5 million, 4.5/10)

CBS: "60 Minutes" (6.4 million, 3.9/9)

Fox: "Bob's Burgers" rerun (1.1 million, »

Moses Added to The Killing

Mark Moses is no stranger to drama after hanging around with the ladies of Wisteria Lane on Desperate Housewives but he’ll soon get to be on the right side of the law when he guest stars on AMC’s The Killing.

Moses, who plays Paul Young on Desperate Housewives, is returning to AMC for at least eight episodes of a major story arc in Season 2 of The Killing, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He’ll play Lt. Carlson, a detective assigned to investigate Rosie’s death when he joins the Seattle police department. While there’s no official word on it at the moment, the mention of appearing in “at least” eight episodes hints that Carlson could be hanging around Seattle for even longer as a recurring character. Currently, Moses is wrapping up the final season of ABC’s Housewives and he’ll also »

Actress Sandra Vergara discusses playing Ginger in Fright Night

Actress Sandra Vergara has spent the past few years working her way up the Hollywood ladder through guest-starring appearances on shows like Nip/Tuck and CSI: Miami. This year, the Colombian beauty (and cousin of Sof&#237a Vergara) starred in Fright Night as Ginger, the girlfriend of David Tennant's Peter Vincent. I recently had the chance to speak with Sandra Vergara about her experience working on Fright Night, which arrives on 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD December 13. Here's what she had to say below.

I thought the character was probably one of the funniest in the whole movie, so I was wondering if you could talk about your first reaction to reading this script?

Sandra Vergara: You're going to love this one. Guess what? When I read the script, my character didn't exist (Laughs). I was supposed to have two lines. »

The battle for first place in the Nfc gave NBC a huge win on Thursday: The showdown between the Giants and the Cowboys earned a 6.9 rating/17 share in the key demographic and 18.6 million viewers, according to early estimates.

CBS — buoyed by its own Raiders-Packers game earlier in the day — came in second in the demo (3.2/8), with the combination of 60 Minutes and The Amazing Race finale from 8:30 to 9:30 earning a 3.2/8. Ratings: Giants-Cowboys Tackle Big Audience, Once Upon a Time Dips to New Low

12 December 2011 9:13 AM, PST | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

NBC’s broadcast of the Giants-Cowboys game gave Sunday Night Football its second-largest overnight rating (16.1) of the season, and the franchise’s fifth-highest tally ever.

Final numbers are due in later today, but very preliminary indicators suggest that well over 20 million total viewers were tuned in during any given half hour.

Similarly, CBS’ own Sunday football coverage gave its primetime line-up a boost. Though the numbers are very rough due to some 40 minutes of NFL overrun, both The Amazing Race and The Good Wife are looking to be up by perhaps double digits, while CSI: Miami appears flat.

A tight game between two marquee teams gave NBC's "Sunday Night Football" some of its best ratings of the season, carrying the Peacock to a big ratings win for the night. The NFL also boosted CBS, while ABC's "Once Upon a Time" declined again in its final episode of 2011.

The Giants-Cowboys game on "Snf" helped NBC score 18.6 million viewers and an 11.3 rating/17 share in households for the night, leading CBS (13.2 million, 8.3/13) by more than 5 million viewers as things stand now (numbers for both nets will change some because of live sports in primetime). Fox averaged 6 million viewers and a 3.5/5, beating ABC's 5.9 million and 3.5/5.

NBC dominated the adults 18-49 demographic with a 6.9 rating, more than doubling CBS' 3.2. Fox drew a 2.7 in the demo and ABC a 1.8.
