Trivia

Various jokes in this were later reused in early episodes of Family Guy (1998): Larry/Peter laughing at Tom Hanks in Philadelphia, the Star Trek spoof with William Shatner gesticulating wildly, people in England having drive-by arguments, God in church saying "I hate it when he tells this story!", Larry/Peter farting for the first time at age 30. Quotes

Larry Cummings: [discussing William Shatner in Star Trek] I think what happens is that he, uh... eats his food, and whatever Spock can't finish, he eats that too.
Steve: Wh... where did you... where did you hear that?
Larry Cummings: Episode 65.
Steve: Ah.
Steve: [pauses] Fucking fat-ass is what he is.

Crazy Credits

During the credits is a series of additional scenes, including: Congressman, Newt Gingrich doing a press conference, and Larry walks up to him and lifts up the politicians wig and reveals a mini-bar. He helps himself to a drink and walks back to the podium and asks "Do you have anything besides schlitz?" A scene of Larry (continuing the joke of him never farting until he was 30) hiding behind a couch when he passes gas. Then he farts again, not knowing what it was he fires a machine gun wildly at nothing. A live-action scene with creator/host Seth MacFarlane notices his Chinese butler, Wang, is still in the house. So Seth says to him "Wang, go home for Christ's sake." See more »

A rough draft to the Masterpiece - the life of larry to Family Guy
17 March 2008 | by See all my reviews

I am a family guy fanatic and as a family guy fanatic i have gone after Seth Macfarlane's other works such as American Dad! and the winner. and what i found a couple of weeks ago is a 10 minute long short animation called the life of larry.

the life of larry is hysterical, i can see where family guy gets its charms. the family guy characters are intended to be replicas of those of life of larry's characters.

all you family guy fans out there, see the life of larry and witness that family guy is indeed not a rip off from the simpsons but a charming replica of seth macfarlane's own work.
