Storyline

The New York Giants of the NFC faced the AFC champion Baltimore Ravens in the 35th renewal of professional football's AFC-NFC World Championship Game. The Giants were heavy favorites based on their two previous Superbowl titles, but Baltimore, returning to the Superbowl for the first time since 1971 when the Colts made the city home, had a team whose defense was considered among the strongest ever seen. Defense wins championships.

"Super Bowl XXXV" between the AFC and NFC champs the Baltimore Ravens and N.Y. Giants turned out to be mostly one sided and a blow out as clearly the better team won the tough and aggressive Ravens lead by the D and Ray Lewis. The game would start off with Raven QB Trent Dilfer throwing a quick TD pass then the Ravens quick and aggressive D would lead to Giants turnovers as it would end up that Giants QB Kerry Collins would throw four interceptions. And the Ravens would dazzle with a kickoff return score and the rushing of 102 yards from rookie RB Jamal Lewis and to close out MLB and team leader Ray Lewis was the game MVP in the 34-7 win.
