Storyline

Codename: Kids Next Door follows the escapades of five eager, yet bumbling, ten-year-olds as they join forces against adulthood to fight for the right to enjoy all the fun things in life. These principled kids tackle the really important issues facing their peers, like the right to stay up late or to eat whatever they want. But when taking a stand is just not enough, this crew embarks on top secret missions on behalf of children everywhere, utilizing fantastic homemade technology like flying machines and catapults, to accomplish their goals. Like any good team, the agents in Codename: Kids Next Door each have their own distinct identities, skills and personalities. Numbuh One is Nigel Uno, the British-accented leader of the group. Hoagie P. Gilliam, a mechanical genius and expert pilot, is known as Numbuh Two. Diversionary tactics are the specialty of Kiki Sanban, also known as Numbuh Three. Brash and impulsive Numbuh Four (Wallabee Beatles) is a master of hand to hand combat. And ... Written by Cartoon Network (press release)

Trivia

The Kids Next Door were originally meant to be the neighbors (hence their name) of Kenny and Chimpy, who appear in "Kenny and the Chimp in Diseasy Does It! Or Chimp -n- Pox (1998)", Tom Warburton's The Cartoon Cartoon Show (1995) short. While Kenny and Chimpy did not become a series, the Kids Next Door did and retained their name. A character from the original show "Professor XXXL" (Triple-Extra Large) was made a villain of the newer series. See more »

User Reviews

I underestimated this show.
3 August 2003 | by (Fullerton, CA) – See all my reviews

When I was watching Cartoon Network as usual, I saw a commercial for Codename: Kids Next Door. When I saw it, I thought this would be a totally lame show with kids who are brats and think that adults want to take over everything. I was wrong.

This show by far one of the best shows on Cartoon Network. It is funny and it has great animation. The dialogue and all the gadgets are funny. For Example: The Flu Bug(a.k.a. The Common Cold)had a mucus squirting machine. The machine was defeated my Numbuh 2's mother's Chicken Soup Machine. That was sheer bliss. It was uproarious. Watch this show. It is way better than Ed, Edd, and Eddy.
