Marvel Entertainment has announced a new Star Wars comic book is going to tell the back-story of Rogue One characters Cassian Andor and K-2So. This news comes after an announcement of a Mace Windu comic book mini series that will also take place in the prequel world and has lead to rumors of a possible Mace Windu spin-off movie, which could be pretty interesting. However, there are no official plans to make a Mace Windu movie or an Andor and K-2So standalone movie at this time. Anything regarding those projects could be based on how the fan reactions are to the upcoming comics.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story mostly focused on the mission of Jyn Erso and her upbringing, which led to questions about the rest of the new characters created for the hit movie. Two of the most popular characters are arguably Rebel Alliance Intelligent officer »
Gotham is back with an all new episode. What will become of the current feud between Penguin and The Riddler? Is Nygma now working for The Court? Will Gotham finish the season strong coming off the news that it has been renewed for a fourth season? Read on the find out the good and the bad from this week's episode:

Good: The Beginning of the Episode -- I'm not the biggest fan of the super-strong Captain Barnes, but the beginning of the episode was great seeing that we got to see Barnes, Talon, and a brief cameo from Mad Hatter. This led to The Court needing Barnes' blood in order to purge the city of its decay, and who did The Court get to obtain his blood?...Hugo Strange. It's good to see a number of the characters who I feel were a part of some »

Lately, we’ve been blessed with an overabundance of good comic news. First, 20th Century Fox releases dates for Deadpool 2, New Mutants, and Dark Phoenix. Now an interesting announcement from Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment.
Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment announced that they are launching a “digital streaming service” at an undisclosed time in 2018. They were obtuse on the details, but the gist is that this streaming service is an “immersive experience designed for the fans.” The service will host a live-action Teen Titans show called Titans and the third season of Young Justice: Outsiders.
Young Justice: Outsiders is the much demanded third season of the Cartoon Network show Young Justice. Young Justice was fantastic: it was spiritually faithful to its source material, beautifully animated, and well voice acted. Following »

By now, I’m sure we all have our varying opinions when it comes to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, but I hope that many of us can agree in saying it was nice to finally see the Man of Tomorrow have a villain that’s a great physical foil for him in the live-action realm that wasn’t Zod. Well, kind of. He was created from the general’s corpse in this interpretation, after all.
Although the brute’s backstory is much too convoluted for a standalone film and was thankfully streamlined for casual moviegoers, his overall look has remained a hot topic for discussion in the past year. Not too long ago, we did get a glimpse of some concept art that revealed a character design with more bone protrusions, »

It appears Warner Bros. is ready to expand the Dceu – the Batman side of it, at least – even more as Variety has reported that the studio is finalizing a deal for The Avengers director Joss Whedon to write, direct and produce a Batgirl spin-off film.
Batgirl seems to have originated in the studio the past month as plans post-Justice League have grown. Toby Emmerich, president and chief content officer of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, has joined Jon Berg and Geoff Johns to oversee the film.
Batgirl is one of DC’s most popular female superheroes. The daughter of police commissioner Jim Gordon, Barbara Gordon joined Batman in his fight against crime in Gotham City. At one point in her career she was shot and paralyzed by The Joker, though this didn’t stop her from fighting crime as she became Oracle, the computer and tech wizard of the Justice League. »

Warner Bros. and DC still has a couple of open slots on its impending release slate heading out of this decade. It has now been confirmed that Nightwing is one of those movies. And the live-action adventure will be directed by none other than Chris McKay, the filmmaker behind this month's hugely successful animated comedy The Lego Batman Movie.
Nightwing will revolve around the DC character of Dick Grayson, also known as Robin, and perhaps the best known member of the Batman family outside of Bruce Wayne. The movie will tie directly into The Batman, which was confirmed earlier today to still be moving forward with Cloverfield and Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves at the helm.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris McKay is currently in negotiations for the standalone DC movie, with The Accountant screenwriter Bill Dubuque tackling the script. In DC lore, Dick Grayson is the original Robin. »

Comic Books 101: DC Rebirth Review 2017!
DC Comics had an overall week ending to their New 52 run. Many of the series just petered out, with only a few having any significant sendoff (Batman, Jla, Superman. Marvel was killing them in sales, and only the core titles ever broke the top 10. Then it all changed, DC made a bold announcement to once again “rework” their line up and in continuity world. They announced is DC Rebirth (You can see the lead up to DC Rebirth in my article here DC Comics Then And Now) an attempt to “get back to basics” for many of their characters. New creative teams, no visions for their books, and less crossovers! Phase 1 of the relaunch so far has been a huge success, the months of June-August were predominantly DC books in the top sales, and many fans have enjoyed the new stories regarding their favorite characters. »

DC Comics has been drawing the line at $2.99 for the vast majority of their titles for some time now, and pretty much every comic book met that price point when Rebirth launched last year. Now, however, that’s set to change. While twice monthly seres like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lanterns and Deathstroke will stay at $2.99, the rest are getting an increase.
Sixteen monthly titles will be going up to $3.99 from this April, but on the plus side, readers will now receive a download code for a digital copy with each of these comics. Marvel was recently criticized for removing that option and instead offering fans back issues, so you have to believe that this is a very deliberate decision by DC Comics.

Well, the reduced price for DC Comics beginning with last year’s Rebirth titles certainly didn’t last long. As announced via press release, 15 monthly Rebirth titles will be increasing in price from $2.99 to $3.99.
There are two silver linings here. The first is that the twice-monthly titles – which include big name titles like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lanterns, and Deathstroke – will remain at the reduced price. The second is that the titles that are going up will now include digital codes. DC’s Senior Vice President of Sales & Trade Marketing, John Cunningham, released the following statement:
“Giving readers value was a key component of our Rebirth initiative, and we’re continuing that commitment with this move. We’ve heard from many fans that they like to read and collect our books in both digital and print formats so this new offering gives DC readers the convenience and value pricing they asked for. »
