Storyline

Kevin was commissioned to shoot the first ever short film aired on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The result was the return of Randal and Dante from 'Clerks' in this six-minute-long short film shown on The Tonight Show and downloadable at the View Askew web site (www.viewaskew.com). This short is a discussion of the absence of the "flying car" and the hypothetical question posed asking "what would you do to get a flying car?" Funny dialogue between characters leads up to a hilarious punch-line which ties it all together in a Kevin Smith trademark style. Written by Bobby Bokista <www.virtualfools.com>

Quotes

[sitting in traffic]
Randal: It's times like this it occurs to me that we were lied to by "The Jetsons."
Dante: What are you talking about?
Randal: According to that show we were suppose to be tooling around in flying cars by now. You see any flying cars lately? That's the problem with TV, it always lies to us.
Dante: Yeah, well most of us rational thinkers weren't banking on a cartoon to offer us a viable glimpse into the future of technological development.

I could watch this all day.

A six minute short film about two guys stuck in a traffic jam and talking about a flying car sounds dull, doesn't it? Of course, it's not. Why, you ask? Because this short is brought to us by Kevin Smith and brings back Dante and Randal from Clerks!!!

I found out about this short recently (well yesterday) and downloaded it Not the fastest download mind you, but well worth it! The writing and actors' chemistry is absolutely perfect. It all equals into a laugh out loud funny short.

'The Flying Car' is a definite must see!
