Croatian no-budget amateur action flick that you got to love ! :)
27 April 2002 | by (Croatia) – See all my reviews

This is really no-budget amateur production, shoot with non-professional actors (actually - no actors at all !) on VHS.

Now, you expect total trash - and you are partially right !

It is trashy movie but it has "something" that will keep you to watch it with interest !

The facts are - this is film about last war in Croatia. It is shoot almost without budget (money that they had was spent on VHS tapes, for some FX gadgets and for editing with help of professional editor), without written script, with real weapon and real bullets (in some scenes), without actors - with real people that actually run through real mine fields (non-intentionally !), do their own stunts and (again) non-intentionally being hurt during some of that stunt scenes (great FX :) ) but that's what it is - it really shows how things really was in war ! See, all "actors", director and cameraman actually was in war and they did the best to show us how things really was: we see fear, pain, suffer, dialogs are as they are supposed to be in real life (no simply heroic Hollywood-style lines but serious, funny or dumb talks with common language etc.), action scenes are surprisingly quite good, directing is OK (although totally amateurish but some scenes are amazingly well done) story is cool too (especially surprising ending !) which all build nice and intriguing movie!

I must say that film critics in Croatia was amazed with this movie and it get lot of awards here for its original approach to war and especially for enthusiasm of its makers that result with a quite good flick.

I recommend.
