Liam Hoofe takes a look back at the best matches in Payback’s brief history…
WWE Payback debuted back in June 2013, with the inaugural event replacing the company’s No Way Out PPV. The event would stay in this slot on the WWE calendar, before moving forward a month in 2015 to May and then finally last year becoming the company’s official first post-Mania event.
While there may have only been four Paybacks to date, the show has delivered a consistent standard of quality over those years, making this Sunday’s event a must see for wrestling fans.

“Shaking hands with Satan himself.”
Wrestlemania 17, hands down, is the best Wrestlemania booked to date. Apart from a horribly short Women’s Championship match with Chyna facing off against Ivory, from the opening match to the main event, every match was great.
The main event of the show was "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs The Rock. The previous year, Austin had been recovering from long needed neck surgery sustained at the hands of Owen Hart at Summerslam 1997. During his time away, superstars like The Rock and Triple H stepped up their game and became main event players in their own right.
