Funny German low budget pic about four friends and their messed up (love) lives during the four December weeks with the story climaxing on Christmas eve. Regarding the title this has nothing do with the music of the same name, but with a small bar these four guys hang out and where most of the film takes place.
Shot on video with young German TV actors (among them,German ex-soap actor and wannabe-musician Oli P., who turns out to be a real discovery in this one) this is a rough little film, with foul mouthed dialogue not heard often in German films, but with its heart in the right place.
Motown doesn't always hit the right notes but for a first time effort done apparently on a shoestring budget its a pretty damn good flick, somewhat in the spirit of Kevin Smith first films.
