I've seen the TV series of "Space:1999" and thoroughly enjoyed watching them. My take on the series is that unlike most sci-fi's that are, what we call in South Africa, "skiet, skop en donner" movies, in other words, all action no talk, "Space:1999" is geared for the intelligent viewer. The dialogue is intelligent, the acting superb and the storyline actually has meaning. The only other series that compares is in my opinion, "Star Trek: Voyager". It also deals with the human psyche. There are times when the actors could have been put to the test, but all in all a good series. We rarely see movie of this "wholesome" caliber. I am saddened that so few were made. Ah, the good IL' days.
