Ken Jacobs and a Window
2 September 2015 | by See all my reviews

This isn't a great film, or a masterpiece of experimental cinema, but it is very creative. I have to give Jacobs credit for being very visually interesting and just having fun with this work. No, it isn't very fun to watch, and a lot of people are going to hate it, but it is a cool little film from and interesting filmmaker.

I liked the other Ken Jacobs films that I've seen a bit more, because THOSE films had a bit more. At times, "Window" gets pretty repetitive, but it's a 9 minute movie with no sound about a window, how much more could you possibly squeeze in? Overall, it is an interesting experiment that I found rather interesting, and it reminds me a lot of Stan Brakhage, whose work is usually a bit better than this film. But, if you like Brakhage and other experimental film artists, you mine as well check this one out.
