Could have been perfect, but good nonetheless..., 21 April 2003
Author: Tom from United States

As a huge Rocky fan, I wanted to buy this game from the second I heard it was being released. I didn't set myself up for anything spectacular so I could basically fully enjoy the game. The game is a great one. You fight through each movie, facing the main opponent of each at the end of your 4 or 5 matches. In between, there are training sessions that are alot of fun and help you build your stats. The problem with this game, and probably only a problem with Rocky fans, is it could've been the BEST movie to game ever if they had just jazzed it up a bit more. The thing that made the movies so great were their specific qualities unique to each one, save the 5th. Had they taken ALL of the music from the movies and used them for this game, instead of the constant blaring of "Gonna Fly Now" it would've improved the quality a ton. "Eye of the Tiger" and the 3 or 4 different tunes from Rocky IV, as well as "Going The Distance" the instrumental used in each movie, are all missed. The training methods, had they been spiced up to fit each movie, maybe a running through snow training session in Rocky IV, or a chasing the chicken method from Rocky II, would've been great. The basic deal is that with a few more changes, this game would have been flawless. The gameplay itself and the rest of the game is just that, flawless. But with the addition of a few things, it could've been the perfect movie-to-game...
