Trivia:
This making-of is featured on the Special Edition DVD for Fail-Safe (1964). more
Goofs:
Factual errors: While Sidney Lumet complains about the it's-not-possible-for-this-to-happen disclaimer placed by Columbia Pictures at the end of Fail-Safe (1964), he notes that there was no similar disclaimer for Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964). In fact, there is a disclaimer about the "stated position" of the Department of Defense at the beginning of the US release (and most seen-on-television) versions of Dr. Strangelove. more
