This was a 6 part mini-series based on the children's book "The Little White Horse" by Elizabeth Goudge (which, incidently, is J. K. Rowling's favourite children's book). It aired in England.
PLOT SUMMARY: When Maria Merryweather is orphaned, she must move to Moonacre Manor with her ever-faithful governess, Miss Heliotrope, and her Spaniel, Wiggins. Maria hasn't been at the Manor long before she discovers that her new home has a tragic past, which she becomes determined to correct...
This is a sweet, old-fashioned story about a stubborn, bad-tempered little girl in the Victorian Era who must learn, with some help, to control herself in order to help others.
