Did You Know?

Originally this game was planned to have two follow up games to continue the story and form an "Angel of Darkness" Trilogy, but the idea was scratched due to poor sales. See more »

In the cut scenes at Von Croy's apartment, Lara angrily confronts Von Croy, claiming that he just "left her" in Egypt. At the end of "Tomb Raider: Chronicles", Von Croy had not left Lara in Egypt; in fact he was obsessive in his search for her amongst the remains of the temple, even though his chances of finding her alive were virtually nil. Janice: You watch out, ma cher. There are a lot of sickoes loose on the streets.
Lara Croft: Yeah...
Janice: That's OK. Some of us like it that way.

The Weakest Of An Excellent Series.
12 July 2003 | by (Scotland) – See all my reviews

First off i was waiting for nearly 2 and a half years for this game which is rediculous time to wait for a game (any game). which makes me think what have they been doing all that time ?. this is the weakest Tomb Raider of the lot and anyone who disagree`s hasn`t been playing video games for long because if you have played the other 5 Raider games then you will see this is the weakest of the series (so far).

i am a big Tomb Raider fan, they (the series) are the best adventure series ever bar none so when i bought this one i was expecting the same high quality as the rest of the series had but instead what i got when i switched it on was a big slap in the face for patiently waiting for 2 and a half years.

graphics are nice Lara is more detailed than before but THE PATHETIC CONTROLS let the game down a lot the controls are really frustraiting at times, you dont control Lara or Kurtis the way you should they dont respond as they should you find them doingthings you dont want them to do like falling off ledges WHEN IT`S NOT YOUR FAULT but the fault of the dodgy controls. like when you try and pull things you see her shoving them instead and to jump around doing back flips and all that kind of thing well it`s a nightmare to attempt (unlike past 5 games). what you have to do instead is just run around shooting which sucks you like to jump around and do that turn while in mid-air so you are facing the other direction (which was not on the controls in this game). there is a boss in the game which i call (`The Reaper`) you will know it when you come to it i nearly kicked the PS2 across the bedroom i cracked the case of the game (slightly) because i threw the control pad because of the dodgy controls it took me nearly an hour to get passed that (and i`m good at the raider games not great but good). THEN there is a boss called Boaz oh you`ll have fun with that one 5 and a half hours to figure out how to kill it (after MANY MANY death`s) this game will give you high blood preasure before you finish it gauranteed.

i am not alone here in thinking this about the excellent raider series (Games Master Magazine) gave it aout 59% which is pathetic for a game of the raider series`s quality. the game took me 8 days to finish during that time i was doing my (`Happy Gilmore`) impression a lot when paying the game.

lets hope the eedjits/fools responsable for these mistakes in the game sort them out for the next in th series because if not then the sales will drop dramatically mark my words they will i dont want to see ta happen so take heed to what i say (`Core Design`).

Adrain Smith (one of the guys responsable for the series) said in the documentary i have on dvd (which was a promotional thing you got when you bought it on day of release) he said ``Number 3 Is The Weakest Of The Series`` well Mr Smith ``I DONT THINK SO, TAKE A LOOK AT #6``.

if there are any good points of the game they are as follows: the atmosphere at certain points in the game make it feel like the good old Tomb Raider`s on the Playstation. the music is good in the game just like in the other games character & level design are good typical Tomb Raider quality when it comes to character & level design (but not the controls).

it will stay in my collection because it is a Raider game but if the type of controls in this game continue then i`ll no longer be buying the games so please sort it out, i loved Driver but boycotted the sequel because of it`s poor poor design & glitch heaven graphics.

this is a next generation console that Tomb Raider 6 is on so why does it still look like a Playstation game with better graphics ?. what we should have is a game like Grand Theft Auto 3 (look at the difference between gta 1&2 to gta3 this is what TR6 should look like when compared to the 5 before it but it looks the same as them with better graphics).

rating for this game 6/10...2 and a half years of waiting and for what ?...this a lame sequel.
