Scott Calvin has been Santa Claus for the past eight years, and his loyal elves consider him the best Santa ever. But Santa's got problems (he's even mysteriously losing weight) and things quickly go south when he finds out that his son, Charlie, has landed on this year's "naughty" list. Desperate to help his son, Scott heads back home, leaving a substitute Claus to watch over things at the Pole. But when the substitute institutes some strange redefinitions of naughty and nice, putting Christmas at risk, it's up to Scott to return with a new bag of magic to try to save Christmas. Written by

Tim Allen starred in Christmas with the Kranks, (2004), and Molly Shannon had a supporting role as one of the Whos in How the Grinch Stole Christmas, (2000). See more »
Curtis says "We usually try to cut them (the children) a little slack around this time of year". Actually, Christmas is around the time when most children start to behave better, so it would actually be when it's nowhere near Christmas that they cut the children more slack. See more »
OK so I admit I thought this was going to be a dud. The first one was sorta clever but a sequel... oh dear. I ended up going to watch it anyway, not entirely by choice.
Well, actually it was pretty good. There were several intertwining plot lines, lots of laughs that weren't all about Tim Allen being fat and falling down, and the kids in the theatre seemed to enjoy it too. So, for what it is (clean family entertainment), it's actually pretty good.
