The game was originally going to be produced for the GameCube, but its developer, Rare, was bought by Microsoft. It was then going to be made for the Xbox, but was pushed back to be made for the Xbox 360.
The manual contains a reference to the film Back to the Future Part II (1989) On page 11 there is an advertisement for the main characters "detective" agency and underneath is an advert that reads; "Sports Almanacs for sale: All years available. Would suit youngster with an eye on the future. Call I.D#9778Outtahere and ask for Marty" In the film Marty buys a sports almanac that he originally planned on taking back to 1985. Outtahere was the license plate used on the DeLorean.
