Storyline

Winner of a SXSW Audience Award, LADYPORN follows the journey of two female students trying to produce a porno for women. Elena Carr and Maggie Carey must struggle with amateur porn stars, an inexperienced crew, no budget, and a nervous leading man. All the while, they attempt to free hardcore pornography from the male viewer and revision the genre to embody and empower women's desire. A documentary & a porno, LADYPORN propels viewers through auditions, rehearsals, intimate interviews, and hard-core sex. As the movie comes to its climax, so will you, as the new genre of LADYPORN is born! Written by Elena Carr

provocative exploration of making a porn for women!
12 September 2006 | by See all my reviews

The documentary is illuminating and brings forth the making of a sex film using the female 'gaze' instead of the typical male 'gaze'.

Women do want to see porn made for them and it is very different than what males like to watch. The actual narrative portion of the film, the porn, is very unique from other porn movies.

The women writers/directors are ahead of their time and this film has shown in several major cities, such as New Orleans, Kansas City & San Francisco at film festivals.

This film was a graduate project.

I highly recommend watching this film.
