After showing establishing shots from the air or outside the gates of several of the 1930s major movie studios, the viewer is taken inside Warner Bros. studios to get a behind-the-scenes look at the film-making process.
This short shows how Hollywood gets ready for the world premiere of an "important" movie. The film celebrated here is Marie Antoinette (1938), which had its premiere at the Carthay Circle Theatre. We see the street leading to the theatre transformed to suggest a garden that might be seen in a French palace. This includes the placement of trees and other foliage, as well as large statues along the route. Grandstands are set up so fans can see their favorite stars as they arrive for the premiere. Finally, the proverbial "galaxy of stars" arrives in their limousines. Fanny Brice and Pete Smith make remarks at the microphone set up on the carpet outside the theatre. Written by

Lavish preparations for the Hollywood premiere of "Marie Antoinette"...
Short documentary features the preparations under way for the premiere at Hollywood's Carthay Circle theater for the premiere of MARIE ANTOINETTE starring Tyrone Power and Norma Shearer.
The preparations include plastic statues, foliage, trees, etc. to resemble a stately French garden. After the preparations are completed by workmen at a very fast pace and stands are put up for adoring fans, we see the arrival of Hollywood's finest stars eager to attend the premiere.
Included are the film's top players, Tyrone Power and Norma Shearer. Others in attendance include Claudette Colbert, Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Paul Muni, Anita Louise, Robert Young, Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, Fanny Brice and a host of others.
Although it gets off to a sluggish start with narration and no background music, as soon as the stars arrive the soundtrack picks up music and the pace increases.
Interesting for film buffs only.
