In 1933 New York, an overly ambitious movie producer coerces his cast and hired ship crew to travel to mysterious Skull Island, where they encounter Kong, a giant ape who is immediately smitten with leading lady Ann Darrow.
This one turned up on late night TV here in England a few years back, and the continuity announcer promised it was a "sex comedy". Well, after an hour, I got fed up waiting for either sex or comedy and tuned out. Fantasy Man turned out to be a pretty turgid would-be drama about a bored businessman's mid-life crisis, replete with crummy dialogue, poor acting and a dreadful score. In fact, if it hadn't been for the continuity announcer's goof, I probably wouldn't even have stumbled across this absolute loser of an Antipodean obscurity in the first place.
