  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: The inkjet printer in the practice room makes the sound of a dot matrix printer.

  • Continuity: When Devon and Laila go to the party and share the kiss, a strand of Laila's hair starts out across her face, then it moves back in place (on her head) then it is across her face again.

  • Continuity: During the first football game, the track is wet/dry between shots as the band marches on the field.

  • Continuity: Sean's drum head changes colors between shots.

  • Continuity: During the first band performance before Sean's solo performance, there is a drumstick on the ground (overhead shot: a foot away from the number 5 on the field). Once they move back the overhead shot to show Sean walking forward starting his solo, the drumstick is gone.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: On numerous occasions, the individual large tenor line is seen playing marching snares, but still make the sounds of tenors.

  • Continuity: Marching band auditions are held at the end of band camp - traditionally at the end of summer and prior to the school's first football game. During this time, it would be much too warm in Atlanta for one's breath to be visible - even at night.

  • Continuity: Devon drops one of his sticks when Dr. Lee steps in to test him. In the next shot he has both sticks in his hand.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: During some part of the movie, when Dr. Lee begins conducting the band at a performance, his hands are conducting beat four, when the band is playing on beat one.

  • Continuity: Size of burger when Ernest is sitting at the table eating.

  • Continuity: When Devon and Laila are studying and then kiss, their heads change relative position between shots.

  • Continuity: When Jayson is being challenged, he finishes with his mallets in the middle of the drum head. In the next shot, the mallets are at the top of the drum.

  • Continuity: In the restaurant when Devon and Laila are talking at the counter about boyfriends, Laila is alternately smiling/closed mouthed between shots.

  • Continuity: When Devon steals Sean's solo at the first performance, Devon is playing using matched grip at the end, but in a close-up of his hands, he's playing using traditional grip.

  • Continuity: When changing camera angles the snare drummers grip changes back and forth between traditional and matched grip

  • Continuity: When Devon starts dancing under the bleachers to impress Laila, the water bottle that he is holding disappears between shots.

  • Continuity: When Devon is in class to learn about music notes, there is someone wearing red clothes sitting behind him. In the next shot, this person is gone.

  • Continuity: When the band is playing at the end of the competition they drink out of Red cups but in the next shot there are no cups visible on the floor.

  • Continuity: When Dr. Lee steps in to test Devon after outplaying Sean, Dr. Lee takes what appears to be several steps back. By the end, they are only one step away from the rest of the line.

  • Continuity: During the drumline rank audition scene, the wind blows a piece of paper on top of Sean's hand. But, in the next shot, the piece of paper is gone.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: On numerous occasions, the music heard from the drums does not match the hand motions, particularly with the tenors and when Sean is playing in a close-up.

  • Factual errors: During one of the performances, there is a shot of a baritone horn player moving his fingers to press the valves. However, he is playing a valveless baritone.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Jayson is challenge the first time, Sean silences the drumline and puts his sticks behind his back. But in the next view, he has his sticks in front of him, like the rest of the line.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: During one of the practices, when the band is playing a scale, the trombone slide positions do not match the note being played.

  • Factual errors: The sheet music printed off is not percussion music.

  • Continuity: In one scene, Sean refers to the segment that he will demonstrate as "the part before my solo". This segment is never present before Sean's solo in the upcoming game, though it does resurface in one of the cadences A&T uses to compete in the tiebreaker during the Classic.

  • Miscellaneous: In the DVD's credits Leonard Roberts name is misspelled "Lsonard Roberts"

  • Continuity: Throughout several scenes where there is a shot of the drumline, there is a fat black man who appears on A&T's drumline as well on Morris Brown's line and others. This man also appears at the BET Southern Classic on several different lines. Which line is he actually one?

  • Continuity: During the first cadence of the face-off the Morris Brown quints are on stands; yet the stands are gone for the second cadence.

  • Continuity: During the scene with Ernest stuffing his face in a hurry, the amount of soda in his cup and the direction of the straw shifts between shots.

  • Factual errors: Devin receives a package from his father in New York City, yet it is postmarked Atlanta, GA.

  • Continuity: In the opening graduation scene where the senior band is performing, the tassels are switched from one side to the other between shots.

  • Continuity: The vegetables on Ernest's plate when he is eating his burger move around and some also disappear and reappear. After he has eaten the pickle, it appears to be whole.

  • Factual errors: The stadium lights during the finale are shown turning on and rapidly back on again. Stadium lights are gas discharge lamps, and cannot be turned off and on again without a significant warm-up period.

  • Factual errors: When A&T is playing "Can You Feel It", the band members form the numerals for the year "1970" when in fact the song was released in 1980 by The Jacksons on their "Triumph" recording.

  • Factual errors: When Devon is with his mom after graduation his tassel is to the right. However, part of a graduation ceremony is switching your tassel from the right to the left after you receive your diploma. Therefore, Devon's tassel should have been on the left side because he already received his diploma.

  • Continuity: When Sean talks to the snares about not looking down, Ernest is seen playing snare. Throughout the movie thereafter he is playing bass.
