The Diplomat is dark, thought provoking, and continually captivating. I was blown away by the intensity of this film, yet it wasn't to the extent where I lost interested. There are surprises around every corner which kept me on the edge of my seat. I recommend it for everyone. There is some graphic material which would make it inappropriate for younger viewers, but all in all, The Diplomat is a great film. J.L. Davis did a wonderful job with everything from directing this piece to selecting his cast of newcomers. Taking a chance with mostly newcomers to the big screen is always a risk, but it is evident that he chose wisely. We are guaranteed to see this director and cast again in the future.
