ONE of those games everyone has played.

THIS game still exist in most arcades as far as I remember this was always playing at any video arcades and it can still be downloaded.

IT seems simple at first put enemies in bubble then Pop'em but it gets harder more and more enemies come at you it's hard to keep track. I still play this online you can play as two boys who turned into dragons there's a spin off rainbow islands where you play in human form. I would love to see a animated movie base on bubble bobble and of Q Bert. They certainly would be better them some of the other video game movies.

This is a true video game classic that will be around for some time.

The sweet bubble magic of this 8-bit gem of early gaming will always bring joy to those who play it!

Warning: Spoilers
Bubble Bobble is one of the cutest, most innocent and happiest games ever made and it has a special place in my heart, because it's one of the few NES games that we had that I can clearly remember playing and loving as a very little kid. It must have been one of the first games I ever played, along with Pong, Duck Hunt, and the original Mario Bros. You play as one or two blue or green adorable tiny floaty dragons, Bub 'N Bob, and you spit bubbles that you can either bounce off of or shoot at your various enemies, and when they hit your enemies, they become all kinds of crazy items and delicious treats! The one scary element to this game was when you ran out of time and were set upon by an anxiety-inducing red-eyed skeleton ghost thingy that homes in on you at an ever-increasing rate! Everything else about the game though was colurful and cheerful, especially the tunes! I love the music, it's like it was specifically designed to seek out the happiness glands of children and juice that sucker dry! I feel positively at home when it comes to the music, hearing it never fails to take me back to how I felt playing it as a kid for hours on end. It was just the perfect kind of jingle that made you want to keep playing and getting better as you reached the higher levels. The mechanics of the game were subtly ingenious beneath the simple exterior, and it was different from any other games of the time that I can think of, and it still is pretty distinctive. It was so easy to understand and get into, and it was so addictive to play, I used to get told off for playing it too late on school nights, I'd keep asking for just ten more minutes please! And it had a slow but sure difficulty curve, with the last twenty or so levels being especially finicky and requiring a lot of ingenuity and skill with the controls to get through. I could never beat the one boss at the end though, he was way too tricky! A sweet childhood classic never dies, and this magic charming little game is one that I'll never forget. X

Bubble Bobble - best commodore 64 game ever
sjensen-427 December 2005
Man I love Bubble Bobble for commodore 64. What a cool game. The music was very good. The game play ruled. As most commodore 64, it takes me back to the 80ties, when I was little. The same feeling must many Others also have. This game was also popular to other computer-types, and with good reason. This is one of the greatest computer games ever: It was simple, good and cosy - can you demand anything more? No! If you love commodore 64 - you will without a doubt know this game. This game became a part subculture and pop culture in the 80ties, and that is why the game appears on this marvellous movie-site. And with all the games which has been adapted to film over these last years, then who knows? Maybe we will some day see a Bubble Bobble movie - I know I want to see one. If Doom has been turned into a movie then Bubble Bobble has just as good potential.

This game is a legend. Bubble Bobble I love you and salute you.

One of the legendary classics in the history of video games.
chribren21 November 2015
"Bubble Bobble" is a video game, originally made as an arcade game in 1986, and later ported into other consoles like Commodore 64, PC, Game Boy and Sega Master System to name a few.

Basic plot: Simply put, this game involves Bub and Bob, two dragon twins who's girlfriends have been kidnapped by Baron Von Blubba and must be saved.

Through 100 levels (or 200 if you played the Sega Master System version), Bub and Bob must shoot bubbles from their mouths in order to trap their enemies, and then defeat them. Food can be collected every time, and items which are mostly useful against enemies can be collected as well. If you manages to fulfill some challenges, a secret door may appear on certain stages.

This is one of the best and legendary video games I've played for Sega Master System, a console my family still owns at their hut. Most of the stages the player(s) have to go through are pretty easy and funny, the graphic is very nice and easy to look at. Even the whole game-play is very easy as well. And who doesn't remember the good old music mostly played through the whole game...? This is a very famous game most people around the world must have played already.

Seriously, this is one of the Sega-games I've been playing the most, some other games being "Sonic the Hedgehog", "Alex Kidd in the Miracle World" and "Lemmings". Sometimes, as long as I and my big sister played this game, we had some trouble trying to find a Magic Candle, a special item which allows the player to automatically light up all later stages which would normally be played through as black screen. Otherwise, we used to have lots of fun playing this game.

As I have mentioned already, this is a game most people must have played already. If not, then I highly recommend you to try this game. Trust me, you won't regret even one second of playing it. In my opinion, this game highly deserves a full rating of 10/10.

"Now, it is the beginning of a fantastic story! Let's make a journey through the cave of monsters! Good Luck!"
LTPHarry11 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The introduction above says it all. Taito's Bubble Bobble is certainly a fantastic journey that has made it not just one of the most well known platformers, but one of the most well known video games in existence.

Story: Two boys named Bub and Bob lose their girlfriends Peb and Pab in the cave of monsters, and along the way they get turned into bubble dragons. Very simple, but does its job.

Gameplay: This is a very different kind of platforming game. Rather than jumping on enemies and gaining power-ups like in Super Mario Bros., Bubble Bobble is a simple stage game where as Bub (or Bob when playing multiplayer) you must defeat all the enemies on screen with his bubble power and gaining as much points as possible by eating various food.

Bubbles are a necessity to use. They can do all sorts of things other than trapping enemies. You can use them to jump to higher gaps, and blowing many while trapping enemies can rack up even more points. Popping many enemies at the same time racks up points as well.

Along the way. There are various other things you can do. You can pop special bubbles that give special abilities to defeat enemies, reach special stages, and even gain an extra life and skip a few stages by collecting bubbles that read "EXTEND". There are so many things you can do in this game for how simple the game is.

After these 99 Levels, you are on the way to battle against Super Drunk, and once he's defeated, whatever happens depends on what you've played as. The Bad Ending is what happens when you aren't playing with a friend, Bub saves Peb, but not Pab.

Yes, I explained that right, this game is best played with someone else. Teamwork is easily the best key for Bub and Bob to save Peb and Pab. If you save both, you get the good ending, but still not enough...

If you play the harder "Super" mode that requires a code, you get the true ending where you don't just save Peb and Pab, but Bub and Bob's parents as well, who were transformed by who knows into Super Drunk.

Music: In all but Level 100, you have a really catchy looping track that has basically made Bubble Bobble for what it is. Even though there's nothing else, you won't get bored hearing it at the fiftieth time.

Platforms: Originally an arcade game, and has been so legendary that it has been released and ported to almost every console and computer since then. A majority of them are simple ports, but some versions expand the original game.

The Sega Master System version that was never released in the United States includes a whole new set of levels and a bonus story in addition to the already existing set.

The Game Boy version, due to its small screen, features a completely different set of levels and a new story to explain it's absence of multiplayer.

Legacy: This game is what made Taito a household name and brought a lot of their arcade games outside Japan. It also is the reason for other Taito titles such as Rainbow Islands, and Puzzle Bobble/Bust-a-Move existing. With Taito's current ownership under Square Enix, Bubble Bobble is still going strong with spin-offs and sequels, but mainly during the company's independent era.

Overall: Who doesn't like Bubble Bobble? It's a great arcade game that almost anyone can pick up and play, and easily my favourite Taito title.

Bubble Bobble
bombersflyup22 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Bubble Bobble is possibly the worst game ever, with poor graphics and sound and no reason to want to play it. It's like the basics of many other games without any of the fun or purpose. The levels and enemies are bland and repetitive. Going through the bottom of the screen is crap and being able to jump through the platforms, yet not being able to drop through them is stupid.
