Where Are They Now? Green Room Chatter for November 9, 2007

As the writer's strike continues, casting is certainly slowing down. Some projects may be delayed or even cancelled as a result of the strike. If they're not on the picket line, here's where you'll be able to find some of your favorite performers from the shows of yesteryear.

David Chokachi (Baywatch) stars in the Sci-Fi Channel movie Bats: Human Harvest that premieres this weekend. He also recently filmed an independent fantasy-adventure movie called The Dreamless. He plays a treasure hunter who's hired to find a powerful amulet. The film's producer is currently seeking a distributor.

TV Guide is reporting that Gina Torres (Standoff, Firefly) has been cast to play the ex-wife of Darling family nemesis, Simon Elder (Blair Underwood) on ABC's Dirty Sexy Money. The role was originally intended to be a recurring one but that may not happen because of the writers' stike.

'Housewives' wed to Delany, Fillion, Fonseca

3 July 2007 | The Hollywood Reporter | See recent The Hollywood Reporter news »

Emmy winner Dana Delany might be co-starring on ABC's Desperate Housewives after all, and she might be joined on the hit dramedy by Nathan Fillion and Lyndsy Fonseca.

Delany, who reportedly was the first choice for the role of Bree but turned down the pilot, as well as Drive star Fillion are in talks and Fonseca is in negotiations to join the cast of the ABC Studios-produced Housewives next season as regulars.

Delany and Fillion would play a woman and her much younger husband who move to Wisteria Lane with the woman's daughter (Fonseca).

Housewives creator/exec producer Marc Cherry, said to be behind the efforts to cast Delany as Bree in the pilot, also is the one trying to get her to play the new character, sources said.

Delany, a double Emmy winner for China Beach, most recently starred on NBC's drama Kidnapped.

Fillion is on the big screen in the feature film Waitress. In addition to his starring role on Fox's midseason drama Drive, Fillion is known for playing the lead in Fox's sci-fi drama Firefly and the subsequent feature film Serenity.

Fonseca recently landed a recurring role on NBC's hit Heroes. Her credits also include HBO's Big Love. She is repped by Gersh and Sager Management. »
