Storyline

Triumph of the Beasts explains just how mammals replaced the dinosaurs as the largest, fastest and fiercest creatures in the world. 65 million years ago a giant meteorite struck the earth, causing the mass extinction of many species. Although this cataclysmic event sounded the death knell for the 120-million-year reign of the dinosaurs, a few mammals survived. Written by Marc West <westius@hotmail.com>

Great, as usual

As with the previous Walking With... behind-the-scenes documentaries, this one is brilliant and entertaining, unlike most dry documentaries and Making of... type of specials. It enfuses humor with scientific facts, and thankfully, it's included in the Walking With Prehistoric Beasts DVD.
