Smart action flick
29 March 2003 | by (Holland) – See all my reviews

Before watching this movie I had not great expectations. But I was pleasantly surprised. Some of the characters are very well drawn, and well acted. The plot is smart and interesting, although it's sometimes slow-paced. The score is effective, beautiful and even haunting. The action sequences are suspenseful and exciting but sometimes a little bit unrealistic.

Direcor Osman Sinav's style is like a mix between the styles of John McTiernan (Die Hard), Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger) and Sidney Lumet (Serpico). He has a great sense for action, like McTiernan. But sometimes he goes too far and because of that things are getting unrealistic, typical Renny Harlin. And he has something from Lumet's style because he definitely has the abilities to make a film interesting and a bit emotional from the begining till the end.

In this film he looks from a whole different perspective at the problems in the middle-east. And actually, it's pretty convincing. Especially his theory about the crisis in the middle-east makes this film a must see.

Deli yürek: Bumerang cehennemi is comparable with Edward Zwick's The Siege, David O. Russell's Three Kings and Ted Kotcheff's Rambo.
