Trivia

Andy and Beth Farmer share the same names as the main characters in the 1988 film "Funny Farm" starring Chevy Chase. In that film Chase's Andy was a writer while this Andy is a book agent. See more »

Goofs

When Andrew and Beth go back to his childhood home and see where they had put their names into fresh concrete when they were young, the concrete etchings they made of their names and hand prints should have been faded and worn and filled with dirt from the passage of the years. But it was clearly freshly poured concrete with the names and palm prints newly made. See more »

A forced happy ending that's not prolly even necessary
21 April 2003 | by (http://atheism.community.officelive.com/quotes.aspx) – See all my reviews

Why are American filmmakers always compelled to force happy endings? This one's not even necessary (probably), but the producers must have felt it desperately needed, for they kept making the ending blatantly obvious, and more so as the movie went on. As for the movie, it got better towards the end as you feel more for the characters. I'd give it a B- just for potential. You'll be left wondering if YOU can do a better job, though.
