Brought to you by SEGA, on the "Sega Master System!"
This is an 8-bit game released on the Sega Master System, which back in the day, was a 2-player overhead shooter made in the same vein as "Ikari Warriors."
The 1st player controlled the character of John Rambo (red bandana), while the 2nd player controlled the "videogame only" character named Zane (yellow bandana). This game is loosely based on the film "Rambo: First Blood, part II" (1985), and was made to cash in on the blockbuster film. There is no sign of Co (Rambo's female companion), anywhere?
Interestingly, it is obvious to the players who have played this game, that this is an inferior clone of "Ikari Warriors," and I would have to say that the original game was much more enjoyable. However, for those gamers who owned the "Sega Master System," this was actually one of its more popular titles. A sequel to this game, a 3-D shooter titled "Rambo III," also appeared on the 16-bit Sega Genesis console.
This game does have some nostalgic value, especially for those people out there, who enjoyed Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo in "Rambo: First Blood, part II."
