British couples wishing to buy a property in a sunny foreign country are shown three or four places found by the show's researchers. The presenter (currently Amanda Lamb) gives the couple useful local information relating to buying, running and maintaining a property in this particular location. After viewing each property the couple are asked for their opinions. At the end of the show they are asked if they have a favourite property and we're finally told if they went on to buy the property or another in the region. Written by Rob Hartill
This is a relaxed and chilled show that lets the house hunters do the talking and puts the presenters in more of a guiding role. Amanda Lamb is great in this show and the person who can't understand this show's popularity is just being negative for negatives sake. It may not be full of tonnes of info or shot in a particularly ground breaking style but this show doesn't claim to break moulds. It's primarily set in Europe and it's relaxed style gives us a look at what life outside miserable Britain would be like. The properties shown always vary and even if not appropriate they are always entertaining. My wife is 23 and loves this programme, so do I. It really is the opposite of that last uptight review.
