A family owned textile shop on the verge of bankruptcy and an aspiring Muslim stand-up comedian feature in Material which was written and directed by Craig Freimond (Gums & Noses).  The South African comedy screened at The World Film Festival in Montreal and Busan International Film Festival; originally released in 2012, the movie has now entered the digital realm of iTunes.

It’s Ebrahim’s (Vincent Ebrahim) dream for Cassim (Riaad Moosa) to take over the shop, but Cassim has discovered a talent for stand-up comedy, and he soon finds himself in direct conflict with his father, his family and his community.

2 May 2014 9:30 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

One recent Friday afternoon HeyUGuys had the privilege to round off our week in conversation with Vincent Ebrahim, star of South African comedy Material.
